Using a simple plug & play device, ScreenScape customers can turn any screen into a connected digital sign. Once a screen is connected it can be updated, monitored and managed over the Internet using ScreenScape.com.
Brand marketers and retail networks use the technology to publish digital signage content on screens inside their stores. Health clinics, university campuses and other kinds of venues use it to engage and entertain their visitors. It’s part of a growing technology arena called place-based media that is rapidly turning TV screens outside the home into location-specific media channels.

Founder and CEOMark founded ScreenScape during his time as Professor of Media and Communications at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI). Prior to joining UPEI, Mark enjoyed a decade of software industry experience that spanned both technical and managerial roles. He has held positions with German software giant SAP AG™, with leading business to business eCommerce services provider Ariba Inc.™, and with managed services provider Emergis™. Chief Financial OfficerRob has held a number of senior management roles in both financial and operational capacities. Prior to joining ScreenScape he was Chief Operating Officer of Diagnostic Chemicals, Diagnostics Division and became General Manager Genzyme Diagnostics PEI Inc. when his operating unit was acquired by Genzyme Corporation in 2007. Prior to joining Diagnostic Chemicals he was Chief Financial Officer of iWave Information Systems. Rob is a Chartered Accountant and has also practiced as a public accountant.
Chief Technology OfficerKen is an innovative hands-on technical leader with over 30 years of management and engineering expertise applied across a broad range of industries in environments ranging from large multi-nationals through start-ups. His expertise includes leading engineering teams through software product development life cycles, with particular emphasis on overall system architecture and design of large scale, high performance systems leading to maintainable, extensible solutions which meet customer expectations. Prior to joining ScreenScape, Ken spent 6 years at Research In Motion in a variety of senior roles including being responsible for overall system architecture of the BlackBerry solution.
Chief Product OfficerMark has over 18 years experience building professional software applications. Raised in the Atlantic provinces and educated at Mt.Allison University in Philosophy and Computer Science, he later spent a decade working in the booming Silicon Valley software industry. While in California he worked as a software developer and product manager with global leaders in the software industry including SAP and Salesforce.com. Mark is now back on his native PEI where he serves as Chief Product Officer at ScreenScape Networks, responsible for leading the teams that design and deliver ScreenScape’s groundbreaking digital signage Internet service. VP, Sales and MarketingMark Binns has over 18 years of experience building customer-driven sales and marketing strategies. Mark has founded, built, and sold two consulting companies that provided strategic advice on customer acquisition and revenue growth to Fortune 1000 technology companies including RIM, Cisco and Rogers.
Mark is a Dean’s Honors graduate of the Ivey MBA program and Graduate of the Computer Science Honors program at Acadia University. Mark has led his companies to PROFIT HOT 50 and PROFIT HOT 100 awards, and was nominated by the Dean of the Richard Ivey School of Business for the prestigious business award of Canada’s “Top 40 Under 40″.
VP, Information TechnologyChris has extensive experience building and managing technical, high performing teams. Chris is responsible for delivering quality, reliable services to ScreenScape customers. Prior to joining ScreenScape, Chris worked for one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical service companies, Amerisource Bergen, where he held various roles in development, architecture and management.
Business DevelopmentKevin is a seasoned software professional with 30 years of experience in executive management, sales and sales management roles. His primary interest has been in growth-stage companies having led sales organizations within Sybase, Platinum Software, Open Market, InterWorld and Ariba where he grew sales in Canada from zero to $20 million in less than two years.

DirectorPatrick (Pat) Waid is President and Chief Operating Officer with Hartco Inc., a leader in the Canadian information technology business for more than thirty years. Since joining Hartco in 2003, Pat has been responsible for all facets of Hartco’s operations, including organizational leadership, strategic planning, business development, and operational performance. Pat has over 25 years of fast-paced business experience, including sales, operations, and change management.
DirectorGerry Pond brings to the Board over 40 years of in-depth experience in the information and communications technology industry. He was the President of Aliant Telecom and CEO of NBTel during a period of significant deregulation in the Canadian industry. Gerry has also proven himself as a leading innovator and has been involved with start-up IT companies such as Q1 Labs, iMagicTV, Brovada Technologies and Radian6.
He has been recognized both nationally and regionally for his accomplishments in business and his tireless contribution to the economic development of Atlantic Canada.
DirectorSteve Shaver is an investor and investment manager based in Oakville, Ontario. Previously he was a Partner at Ernst & Young (E&Y) where he was responsible for managing some of the largest Trust Company insolvencies in Canada on behalf of the federal and provincial governments.
Steve left E&Y in the early 1990s to start his own investment company. He has or has had investment interests in residential development, real estate, magazine and newspaper distribution, canola oil manufacturing, health care technology, and franchising. Mr. Shaver has been on many private company and public company boards in various capacities including compensation committees, governance committees and audit committees.
